Cannes Film Festival regarded as world's prestigious event by Sina Entertainment, will be announcing their nominated list next Thursday (23rd). America's entertainment website, Variety released their expected nominees list where 'Vengeance' directed by Johnny To becomes a hot favourite. Official website of 'Vengeance' has released its trailer.

'Vengeance' is a joint collaboration between France' ARP, Milky Way Image and Media Asia. When accepting an interview before this, this being his first international production, "I believe the collaboration this time will bring my filming career to a whole new level." Due to his prioritization of this film, Johnny To's two other planned production, 'Murder' and 'The Red Circle' has been postponed for filming.

As for the casting, Johnny To had initially hoped to get France' star Alain Delon to collaborate, and has been negotiating since 2007. It was a pity that Alain Delon rejected the offer in the end. Due to the excellent script, Johnny To did not want to give up filming just because of Alain's rejection, and in the end sought France' rock king Johnny Hallyday to as a 'substitute'. Johnny is France's legendary singer, and has the label 'King of Rock', and has fairly well achievements in the film industry as well, leading in L'homme du train (The Man on Train), etc movies. What is worth mentioning was female lead, Michelle Ye, being new in the film industry, her fluent Chinese and English language ability gave her an edge in her performance in the big screen. In 'Vengeance', she portrayed well, becoming the new favorite of 'To's girl'.
